Our osteopaths

Jon graduated back in 1996, also marrying at the same time! Having always had an interest in how the body functions, he did very briefly consider going into medicine but a chance suggestion by a Homeopath led to him visiting an Osteopath; He was fascinated and within a few weeks had signed up to the course for Osteopathic training.

Jon worked at 70d Park Lane, Chippenham and also in Bath when he first graduated as an osteopath. After 4 years and 2 children, the family decided to go back to their home county of Sussex where they remained for 19 years. They always wanted to return to Wiltshire at some point and, in 2019, Jon closed his practice in Brighton and took over an osteopathic practice in Bradford on Avon which he and his wife, Sara, have run ever since.

They are now excited to re open an osteopathic practice at 70D, Park Lane, Chippenham.

Jon embraces all aspects of osteopathic treatment which enables him to treat a very wide range of problems. His treatment is very much tailored to the individual patient which means that he uses many different techniques from soft tissue and mobilisition of joints to spinal manipulation ("clicks") and stretching. He specialises in the use of cranial technique alongside more structural methods. These are a series of gentle but extremely effective techniques that stimulate the body's ability to re align itself; it is very good for those with chronic, complicated problems and with a history of trauma. It also means that adults in acute pain can be treated more comfortably as well as babies and children.

The use of cranial treatment for babies and children is a specialist field and we have many years experience in helping calm unsettled babies for various reasons, mainly linked to the stress and strains associated with the birth process.

Ali completed his intergrated Master's in Osteopathy and Diploma in Naturopathy from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016.

Prior to this Ali studied Swedish and Sports Massage at Kingston College; after this, when his mother suggested visiting an osteopath, he became curious about how biomechanics and poor posture can cause pain and decided he wanted to further his interest in hands-on therapy.

Ali is particularly interested in the aftercare that can be provided following an injury - this can include stretches, exercises and postural advice. He has worked with specilaised personal trainers and their clients to fine-tune rehabilitation.

Ali was an avid cyclist and has helped at charity events such as Ride London and the London Marathon. Since moving to Bristol he has worked with the Empire Fighting Chance charity, and professional boxers across the city’s boxing gyms. Ali has done talks with GP surgeries and WI groups.
